SDFM Knock ’em for Six

Nineteen members and guests enjoyed a fun Skittles Evening at The Black Horse, Findon on 11th December, for the club’s Christmas Social.

The Black Horse has changed its management during 2019 and the new licensees have done a lot to modernise the pub’s décor and provide a welcoming ambience.  One area that seems to have missed this make-over is the one-hundred-year-old skittle alley, but this was festively decorated with an array of fairy lights which defied anyone not to enter into the Christmas spirit.  To keep us going, we had nibbles and a variety of basket meals.

Players were grouped into teams of six and Pauline Reymond kindly offered to be the score-keeper.  A wide range of bowling skills were displayed but amazingly, after four rounds, the top two teams tied their scores and the third team ended just one point behind! This was resolved with a play off, with the winning team comprising Julia and her husband John, Terry, Irina, Roy and Anne.

Well done to everyone who came along and thanks for making this event a great success.
