SERIAC successes for SDFM – We’re gonna need a bigger trophy cabinet!

This years SERIAC Film Festival was due to take place on 18th April at the Oast Theatre in Tonbridge, and of course it did not happen. However all the film entries were still judged by the judging panel, and awards made in the various categories.

SDFM had some considerable success as follows:

‘PAINTING WITH GLASS’

won the Freddy Beard SERIAC Cup as ‘Runner-up to Best Film in Competition’.

It also won the Croydon Documentary Cup for ‘Best Documentary in the Festival’ and The Baynes Trophy for ‘Best Photography’.

‘DEAD ON TIME’

was awarded the Kent Cup for ‘Best Film from an IAC affiliated Club’

as well as the JVC Editing Trophy for ‘Best Editing’

‘BETTY’S BIG BREAK’

was judged to be the Best Comedy in the Festival and won the Orpington Comedy Trophy.

‘THE LAND TIME FORGOT’

picked up The Colin Paine Trophy for ‘Best film in no special category’, and

‘A TOAST TO TARRING’

won a Commended Certificate

What a haul and well done and congratulations to all who contributed to the making of these films.
