2023 Inaugural Community Film Making Competition

Please note the entry period for the South Downs Film Makers inaugural annual community filmmaking competition, with the central theme of “Who Am I?”, has officially closed.

We were astounded by the diversity and creativity showcased in the submissions we received. Each entrant brought a unique perspective to the theme, and we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the contributors to the competition. Now, it’s time to celebrate the hard work and passion! We cordially invite all entrants to the public screening of the films in this year’s competition. This special event will take place on:

Date: November 15th Time: 19:30 Location: Ferring Village Hall, 90 Ferring St, Ferring, Worthing BN12 5JP

The evening promises to be a cinematic celebration of creativity and dedication, beginning with the showing of all the films entered, on the big screen. Following the screenings, we will host an informal Q&A session, allowing each entrant the opportunity, if they so wish, to share insights about their film, discuss the ideas behind their work, and talk about the challenges faced during production.

To cap off this memorable evening, we will hold a prize-giving ceremony, where the top prize winners will be revealed!

First Place: £50 cash prize and a 12-month free membership to the South Downs Film Makers club.

Runner-up: £25 cash prize and 6 months of free club membership.

We encourage entrants to invite a friend to witness their film’s debut on the big screen in front of a fellow filmmaker audience. Please RSVP by 8 November to competition@southdownsfilmmakers.org.uk to ensure we have adequate seating and refreshments for everyone. Good luck to all our talented contributors! We look forward to sharing this unforgettable evening with you and thanks again for taking part.
