FANCY A ROLE?
Be part of the SOUND TEAM.
The sound team are in charge of recording all the sound that will be required in the editing. They use different microphones and different recording devices – as well as recording straight onto the camera’s memory card.
One member may be in charge of monitoring the sound quality with headphones while another member is controlling the microphone. They report back to the director if something is not right with the sound. They might also be responsible for starting the sound recording equipment and confirming it has recorded.
They may be required to record more sounds than just the dialogue from the actors. To make the soundtrack work in editing, separate shooting of ‘sound only’ shots may be required, for example the cards being shuffled, a chair moving on a wooden floor or general atmosphere sound.
