Our own member Alan Cross presented us with a great technical talk on Wednesday 17th March. This included a look at the new Canon EOS R5 mirrorless camera, which he has purchased, considering some of its many features and functionality as a film camera, as well as its undoubted capabilities as a stills camera. To follow, Alan gave us a very useful insight as to how he uses Da Vinci Resolve software, showing us how to process Canon Log and RAW footage and how to use scopes and waveforms to correctly colour grade our footage. Considering that this software is still available for free, it’s capabilities are amazing, particularly in the area of colour grading. Alan’s tutorial on Resolve can be seen again at https://vimeo.com/495770167.
This was a fascinating evening and we were extremely pleased to have join us on the Zoom call, 4 members of Haywards Heath Movie Makers.
