SDFM, along with many other film clubs in the (not necessarily South) of England, were invited to join Surrey Border Movie Makers for their annual member’s Club Competition on Friday 4th December. Several SDFM members Zoomed in and enjoyed 13 film in the competition, plus a comedy starter, in the company of others from as far away as Sutton Coldfield and Bristol.
There was a large variety of films including most genres e.g. Comedy, Documentary, Holiday, Music, Animation, and Wildlife. Dave & Jan Watterson judged the competition and awarded the numerous categories of prizes. However first prize and the best film trophy went to Dave Skertchley for his brilliant animation of ‘Mary Rose – the True Story’. Incidentally Dave used to be a member of SDFM before he moved away, and many SDFM members may well remember him. A deserved winner. See still from film.
